What is Planetary Health?
Planetary health is concerned with “the health of human civilisation and the state of the natural systems on which it depends” (Rockefeller-Lancet Commission on Planetary Health, 2015)
It is a solutions-oriented, transdisciplinary field and social movement, combining Indigenous Peoples’ wholistic knowledge systems that embrace interconnectivity and interdependence and Western scientific knowledge, focused on analyzing and addressing the impacts of human disruptions to Earth’s natural systems on human health and all life on Earth.*
